    Hello,

    Somehow analytics suddenly stopped working and after days of trial and error, I can’t get it back to work. Site kit is Successfully connected with analytics, search console and tag manager

    My domain is: https://mercuryredstone.com/

    The steps that I have taken so far:

    1. Create new GA4 property (correctly connected with my UA-property and tag manager)
    2. Setup tag manager
    3. Test tags for firing with tag manager extension (all seems fine)
    4. Connect analytics with search console (for whatever reason)
    5. Change UA-property URL from HTTP to HTTPS

    All the above to no avail.

    I must admit though that I do find all the options rather cumbersome and have very little way of knowing whether everything was setup correctly, apart from sensible understanding and lots (lots!) of trial and error.

    I also do not make use of any tagging code on my website, assuming that Site Kit would do that for me (as that is what it says).

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Boudewijn

    Sorry for the delay. I was briefly away from my PC.

    I have just deactivated Litespeed and disconnected Tag Manager. It’s now 00.11 so I’ll leave it like this and pick it up again tomorrow.

    Cheers!

    After disabling litespeed and disconnecting tag manager, it indeed started working.

    My developer tells me the following:

    With Litespeed activated it takes the info from the local server.

    <script type=”text/javascript” class=”cmplz-stats”>(function(w,d,s,l,i){w[l]=w[l]||[];w[l].push({‘gtm.start’:
    new Date().getTime(),event:’gtm.js’});var f=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],
    j=d.createElement(s),dl=l!=’dataLayer’?’&l=’+l:”;j.async=true;j.src=
    https://mercuryredstone.com/wp-content/litespeed/localres/www.googletagmanager.com/gtm.js?id=’+i+dl;f.parentNode.insertBefore(j,f);
    })(window,document,’script’,’dataLayer’,’GTM-MVPP4VB’);</script>

    With Litespeed deactivated it takes the info from Google tag manager (which I did also disconnect from Site Kit).

    <script type=”text/javascript” class=”cmplz-stats”>(function(w,d,s,l,i){w[l]=w[l]||[];w[l].push({‘gtm.start’:
    new Date().getTime(),event:’gtm.js’});var f=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],
    j=d.createElement(s),dl=l!=’dataLayer’?’&l=’+l:”;j.async=true;j.src=
    https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtm.js?id=’+i+dl;f.parentNode.insertBefore(j,f);
    })(window,document,’script’,’dataLayer’,’GTM-MVPP4VB’);</script>`

    So now what to do?

    Excellent, nice troubleshooting. In that case what I would do is reset Litespeed Cache to your default configurations before then checking the Analytics real time report each time. I can’t be sure of what configuration was applied that resulted in the non reporting of data.

    Be sure you’re visiting your site as a non logged in user when checking the Anaytics real time report. Feel free to also share any findings here. I’ve tested Litespeed Cache before and with the default configurations there should be no issue with reporting.

    Ok, will do. Thanks.

    Do I still need to do something with tag manager or can I ignore that for now?

    No problem at all.

    Do I still need to do something with tag manager or can I ignore that for now?

    Are you looking to implement GA4 or any other features on your site via Tag Manager? If not you may have no requirement to use Tag Manager on your site.

    I’ve also been reviewing some LiteSpeed cache configurations. If you encounter more issues you may try to deactivate the localisation of resources, referenced in this support forum topic.

    I can keep this support topic open if you wish, while checking up with you next week to ensure your dashboards are working as normal.

    @wbrooseboom Just checking up with you to see if all is working as expected now?

    Yes, many thanks.

    We are now confronted with the issue of a slow load speed but that is obviously not related to Site Kit.

    Thanks for your help!

    Great to hear Site Kit is now working. If you have any further questions be sure to reach out. And if you have a moment free please share your plugin feedback, we’d love to hear how you’re finding the plugin so far.
