Support » Plugin: Ninja Forms - The Easy and Powerful Forms Builder » Ninja forms is REALLY slow

Just added Ninja forms (3.1.9) to my WP website running (4.8.1) and it literally takes over 10 seconds for the “processing” button to go away. Tried it several times and the same every time. The form is basic only having Name, Email & Message.

I run minimal plugins on the site and otherwise it is fast. Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted?

    Any help is welcome!

Because we only check these forums once per week, we strongly encourage you to reach out to us here with any followup questions in order to get a timely response: https://ninjaforms.com/contact/ There, we offer support free support directly to our Ninja Forms users with significantly more privacy and a faster response time.

Since you’re issue is specific to your site, reaching out to us at the above is the best way for us to assist.

That said, the most likely cause of a simple form taking too long to process if there is not an abundance of other plugins is poor hosting performance. This is especially common on shared hosting platforms that may oversell their resources.

I am experiencing this problem, too. The site is on a VPS, and everything is snappy, except for the form. In my case, the delay only happens on forms that send emails. In code, NF has to do all PHP related activities, like sending emails, before it can send the success response back to the form. The site uses a third-party SMTP service instead of PHP’s mail() function, and I think that’s what’s slowing it down.

Well, after running a test, I found that the mail function takes 0.018419027328491 seconds to complete, so the third-party SMTP is not the problem. WordPress or NF is doing something that makes this take a REALLY LONG time.
