• Product works well, but their business model and method for communicating hidden charges is the worst I have seen.

    Hidden charges include:
    1) the ability to have Users auto sign up for 2-Factor when they login
    2) the ability to have 2-Factor apply to anyone other than Admins (what?)
    3) Extra charges to send you more than xx emails for authentication
    4) Extra charges to use SMS
    5) Lastly, the requirement to add $60 of pro services to have you check the right boxes if you want to upgrade (twice) to Premium… I had already upgraded to Do it yourself).

Then add on top of that the confusion because they don’t tell you these things. Look at their comparison chart of features by version it does not mention any of items 1-5 above. Oh, then try to call them… well leave a message.

    Hi truffolo,

There are no hidden charges applied to the plugin. It is crystal clear and well defined in the plugin the charges are only for the number of users and SMS. Emails are absolutely free, there is no extra charge for it.

Looking at your response, it seems you have not installed the premium version of the plugin after upgrading from the trial version of the plugin. Because whatever you are stating here is part of the free plugin, not premium version. Please find our response below against each of your query.

    1) the ability to have Users auto sign up for 2-Factor when they login
[Response]: There are no extra charges. Charges are applicable for the number of users you want to setup the 2-factor for. If you want to setup 2-factor for 5 users then you will have to pay for 5 users only. Auto sign up is for the better user experience, i.e, it asks the users to setup the 2-factor during the login. However, they can also setup the 2-factor after login into Dashboard.

    2) the ability to have 2-Factor apply to anyone other than Admins (what?)
[Response]: There is no question of hidden charges. We have clearly stated that free version of the plugin is meant for only 1 user (admin). If you want to add 2-factor for more than 1 user then you can upgrade to the premium plugin.

    3) Extra charges to send you more than xx emails for authentication
[Response]: Emails are absolutely free in the free as well as the premium plugin. I don’t know why you are saying this? Please contact us if you are asked for email charges.

    4) Extra charges to use SMS
[Response]: It clearly stated in the plugin that 10 SMS are free to use in the free version of the plugin. If you want to use OTP over SMS as authentication method then you need to upgrade to premium version. During purchasing the premium plugin, it asks whether you want to use OTP over SMS or not? So, nothing is hidden here.

    5) Lastly, the requirement to add $60 of pro services to have you check the right boxes if you want to upgrade (twice) to Premium… I had already upgraded to Do it yourself).
[Response]: You don’t have to pay $60 for premium services. The minimum amount by which you can avail the premium service is $15 for 5 users and it includes all the authentication methods except OTP over SMS or Phone Call Verification. If you have already upgraded to Do it yourself then there is no need to upgrade again to premium. You will get the same list of features in both the plans.

You can reach out to us from the Support forum given in the plugin. You can also reach out to us from our contact us page or can directly send an email to info@miniorange.com. I hope when our support team will help you install the plugin, you will change your views about the plugin.

Having said this, we also provide screen share session or GoTo meeting to help our customers to setup the plugin whether they are on free version of a premium version.

    Thanks,
    miniOrange Team
