Nicer Archives: how to hide one category?

  • Hi,
    I am using LL’s Nicer Archives, but i want to hide a category completely from it.
    Currently i can hide the category from being listed using wp_list_cats(“exclude=n”), and i can hide the posts from appearing in the front page by usign the code below in my-hacks.php:
    if ((empty($_GET['cat']))&&(!preg_match('/wp-admin/', $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']))) $cat = '-n';
    where n is the category ID.
    But it is useless going through all this to hide the category if it and it’s posts show on my narchives.php page. I would like narchives.php to ignore this category and all posts in it completely, no matter how the reader sorts the archives.
    All help much appreciated!

  • Ah, I’m sure someone knows…

    Don’t think narchives can currently exclude categories. I would suggest you contact the original author.

    Actually, I bet it doesn’t. Try sorting by Title and I bet you get posts from the category you do not want to show. I don’t have access to the code right now, but maybe someone else can tell you how to close that loophole.

    Hehe, i won that bet… it works, no matter how i sort the posts. You are better than you think 😉
