• I gave your plugin a honest try, as I don’t like the approach of woo.
Installation was easy, it has a good amount of functionality and the backend is quite fast.
    This is the positive:)

I have no idea why you say that your plugin is fast.
My tests say something different (on a fresh installation with a really fast theme).

The page-size with your plugin varies between 300-700kb!!! (with optimized pictures) and is loading between 52-58!! files – where only 2 are from the Theme (depending on the page you are).
In relation to the really huge amount of page-size and loaded files, your plugin is rather fast.
And I am sure I could reduce up to some level the page-size and loaded amount of files.

But honestly why should I use your plugin instead of woo, when it slows down the website even more?
    Speed is key!

    Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to try SureCart and share your experience. I’m sorry to hear that you encountered performance issues – our goal is always to provide a lightweight, high-speed solution, and it sounds like we fell short in your case.

While SureCart is designed to be leaner than WooCommerce, actual page size and load times can vary depending on your theme, plugins, and server configuration. We need to investigate why your setup is behaving differently. If you’re open to it, our team would welcome the opportunity to analyze your test environment and pinpoint the bottlenecks.

Could you please reach out to us directly so we can take a closer look? You can contact us here: https://surecart.com/contact-us/

Thank you again for your feedback. We’re committed to continuous improvement and would appreciate the chance to resolve these issues for you.

    Best regards,

SureCart is absolutely faster than WooCommerce. You can even check our demo site here in pagespeed insights.

It sounds like your theme is maybe not coded properly to support WordPress. Luckily we have a setting to drag it into 2025. If you navigate to SureCart > Tools > Advanced and make sure “On Demand Block Assets” is checked. This will force your theme to load block assets only when the blocks are used on the page. We don’t enable this by default as it can change the load order of css on your site – it should be done by themes directly.

    Hi Andre

I agree with you that your demo-page became much faster. But I still not agree that you are faster/better then Woo.

Check of a Demo product page: https://demo.surecart.com/products/terracottom-cap/

    pagesize: 489.52 Kilobyte!!!
    HTML faults: 328!!! –> https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=https://demo.surecart.com/products/terracottom-cap/

I guess I do not have to repeat that your plugin loads too much CSS and JS files.
Woo loads too much as well.
Bonuspoint for Surecart, when it is possible to load css/js files only, when they are neccessary.

Page-Speed Desktop is really good when you take in account the amount of page-size. = 100%
But your plugin is still lacking mobile speed, which is key these days. = 60%

With Woo I can reach the same result, but with less pagesize & HTML faults:)

As long Surecart isn’t fully on the winner-street, I see no advantage to move to Surecart.

Thanks for the followup. Huh, I’m getting different pagespeed scores and page size from SureCart…

Either way, just looking at WooCommerce storefront and SureCart demos, SureCart is less than half the size… I don’t doubt you could get WooCommerce smaller, but SureCart is just smaller by default. Most importantly, not in front-end assets, but database bloat, addon bloat, etc.

But I appreciate your opinion, none-the-less. It sounds like you would be happier with WooCommerce. Totally fine with that!
