  • I don’t like that one license only allow updates for a year. It’s like ask you for money each year and is not cheap. I understand the premium support, but pay for the updates is not what others use to do.

    Thank you for asking.

    The review is misleading. eCommerce Product Catalog is free of charge and fully functional without any “license” like any other plugin in WordPress repository.

    We also provide free support on the forum and free updates all the time. We don’t charge for eCommerce Product Catalog updates…

    It looks like the reviewer is describing our premium services but it is not clear from the review and can be misleading for new users.

    I also believe that according to the guidelines commercial products shouldn’t be posted on these forums.

    That is not correct.

    There are no customers here, just opensource users of code. There are no companies here, just people who have contributed their opensource code and time. Commercial, pro, refund conversations have no place in these forums.

    It looks like the reviewer is describing our premium services but it is not clear from the review and can be misleading for new users.

    The one exception is reviews. When a plugin or theme upsells either here or in the user’s dashboard then that feedback is permitted.

    This review is feedback and it will be allowed to remain. Any of your customers for the “pro” or services related to this plugin are invited to leave a review related to this plugin, premium or not.

    What they cannot do is seek support for the “pro” or “premium services” here. Support topics like those get closed with a reply when found.

    For pro or commercial product support please contact the author directly on their site. This includes any pre-sales topics as well.

    As the author is aware, commercial products are not supported in these forums. I am sure they will have no problem supporting you there.

    But reviews are fine and that is what this is. Your plugin page here promotes a paid add-on. You invited this review yourself.

    I am fine with reviews for our premium services here…

    The main reason why I reported this review is that it is misleading. It basically says that you have to pay for the updates which is not true.

    I am the plugin author so I know that it is about the premium service but for somebody new it is not so obvious.

    I know that I can clear it out in the response to the review but I believe that most of the users only read the reviews without clicking on it.

    So in case somebody reads this:

    eCommerce Product Catalog is free of charge. All the updates are free and you don’t have to pay for it. We also provide free support here.

    Our premium plugins come with one year of premium support and updates. After one year you get a discounted renewal offering. This is pretty common in WordPress community.

    @fernandocoello can you please modify your review so it is more clear? I believe that you wanted to share your thoughts about the extension system but other users will think that it is about eCommerce Product Catalog. Thank you for reviewing 🙂

    This review is pretty obvious that it’s about the “premium” version and you’ve confirmed what the user does not like when you wrote this.

    Our premium plugins come with one year of premium support and updates. After one year you get a discounted renewal offering. This is pretty common in WordPress community.

    You’re not disproving the review and since it’s the reviewer’s opinion you really can’t. This review is feedback about what the reviewer does not like. Thanks for confirming that the reviewer meant your “premium” plugin.
