• This is a very nice looking sharing plugin, but as you can see by the plugin stats it kills site performance. Jetpack uses less resources and it does a boatload of stuff (arguments can be made if they’re needed or not but that’s another story). Social Media Feather only displays sharing buttons and gobbles up 42% of the total time used by plugins on my site.

    I’m not sure what you used to measure performance but I’m assuming something like P3. That plugin is completely unreliable in terms of measuring “performance” of a plugin and I’m not even sure why it’s still being used.

    The only reliable way is to test your site against something like pingdom (selecting server location closest to you) with the plugins disabled/enabled multiple times, then take an average.
