Nginx and WordPress Permissions (2 posts)

    I've installed nginx with php-fpm and configure it with no problems in a VPS.

    I uploaded the wordpress content to /usr/share/nginx/html but it seems like I'm having issues with the file permissions. If I want to install a plugin it just ask for an ftp account, the files have the right permissions according to wordpress, but it seems not to work here probably because of the user:group permissions? I don't really know.

    In my nginx.conf I have:
    user nginx;

    But I don't know if I should chown nginx:group or nginx:nobody or I don't know... Does any of you have any idea of how to set this up? or what should I do?

    Hi Gianfranco,

    In your php-fpm configuration file, check who the "user" is. Once you find this, please make sure "that user" has the permission to write or modify the files in the WordPress directory (ie., /usr/share/nginx/html).
