As far as I understand, NGG produces the ngg_tag/[slug] when a tag search is executed.

I think there is a bug in the header of that page. The header is always identical with the page’s slug name, not with the search term. Both will be different when non standard letters are used. For example if the category and accordingly als the tag is “Frühblüher” the ngg_tag result page will show a header reading “fruehblueher” as this is the slug name. This is somewhat confusing as this is not what the user has chosen.
The problem would be easy to correct as the page title always includes the correct search term, in this case “Frühblüher – […]”.
It would be good if you could display the real search term instead of the slug in the header.

As second issue is, that it would help a lot if the ngg_tag page would display the picture’s filename under each picure on the “Images tagged …” page. Currently the title is only displayed in a mouse-over box. If you need to check many result pictures quickly, this is somewhat awkward.
Could you implement the display of subtitles under each thumbnail permanently or as an option, please?

As the page is accessible for logged in users, I can only give a screenshot of the issues here: http://www.swiftease.de/temp/example.html

@stewagner – Thanks for the feedback on this, although it may be better to share your thoughts and ideas on this as a Feature Request item here: https://imagely.com/feature-voting/

Also, are these same concerns apparent when using a default WordPress Twenty series theme?

    Thanks!

I tested this with three different themes, including twenty-seventeen and twenty-sixteen. Identical concerns with all of them.

@stewagner – Are you able to share the URL where you are seeing this issue? More as a direct reference which can sometimes be better than specific screen captures.

    Thanks!

    Hello Cais,

I created an open look-alike page of the member area search page here
The database itself is under construction and there are just a few tags. In order to get the idea, please click on “Libelle”. When you search for a specific Libelle (=dragonfly) it would be very helpfull to see not only 40 thumbnails but also to be able to read he specifica type name as a subtitle.
Please try entering one of the tag names in the search box of WP NGG Search Pro plugin which nicely shows the subtitles, even though it distorts the thumbnails.

By clicking on either “Köcherfliegenlarve” or “Frühblüher” you can see the difference between page head (=slug name) and page title (=tag name). At least this should be easy to correct.

I hope you get my points.

    Best regards,
    Steffen

@stewagner – I see you are using a third-party extension of NextGEN Gallery, if this is taken out of the equation are you still having the issues you are seeing?

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

I deactivated the third-party Plugin now. As you can check yourself, only the search box dissappeared. Otherwise all described effects are nchanged.

Can’t you reproduce the effects on your own site?

    Brgds.

@stewagner – My apologies for misunderstanding the description of the problem. I do see the issue and I can see what is happening with the slug being used instead of the “search” term. I’ve written this up for our developers to review further although I do not have a timeline on when this will be addressed.

Thanks, and again … my apologies.
