NGG thumnnails improperly resizing

On the homepage of the site we are building the NGG plugin is being used at the bottom of the page with 4 thumbnails. In mobile safari if we refresh the homepage the thumbnails are reduced to about 5px tall but if we tap the logo in the header to return to the homepage they show up fine. This only happens on refresh.
Anyone have any clue as to what would cause this?
