nextgen uninstalled itself!!

    i updated like youre meant to. wordpress 4.1.2 nextgen gallery etc. now next gen is gone it uninstalled itself!!! I run allThoseShapes.com a street art website in Melbourne over 20,000 photos actually i dont know how many maybe over 30,000 next gen is gone! i cant reinstall it because there are nextgen folders on my server (which seem to contain nothing) are all my photos gone too? why did the plugin do this? on every page “NextGEN gallery is not installed/inactive!” http://allthoseshapes.com/ please help fast… 🙁

    @shane_idc – It would seem there was an issue with the WordPress update process but it can be easily sorted out.

    Access your site via FTP and under the /wp-content/plugins/ folder find and remove the /nextgen-gallery/ folder and all of its contents (your images will be safe).

    Now under Plugins > Add New … Search for NextGEN Gallery
    Then install and activate the plugin and all should be fine.
