# Nextgen slowdown

 * Hi, I upgraded to version 3.1.6 and the whole site slowed down to snails pace
   and wouldn’t load properly. The gallery was working fine before the upgrade. 
   I had to revert back to 3.1.4 to make it work properly again. I am using wordpress
   5.0.3 and php version 7.2.8. Could you please tell me what is wrong or how I 
   can fix it?

 * Hi Gaby,
 * Sorry to bother you about that. I had setup the website years ago and was working
   with 5.0 or something like that. It was the database the mysql version that was
   slowing it down but I only noticed it when I upgraded to the latest version. 
   I had already upgraded the php but I didn’t know about the mysql until yesterday.
