• Hello all,

I have used NextGEN Gallery several times in the past successfully but I need to modify it slightly and I don’t know how.

I want to add text and previous/next buttons like this: << “Image title/description” >> under the images in the slideshow on this homepage:http://ithacatype.com/

Can anyone suggest and article, tutorial or way of doing it? your help would be greatly appreciated for sure.

    Sincerely,
    Chris Boggs

  • hi Chris

if you can do some PHP you can edit one of the gallery templates and use the $prev $next variables that shoud already be valorized, here i found an article:

    hope this helps, cheers

    Hi guys,

I am also wanting to add previous and next buttons to the slideshow, but it seems there is no slideshow template in which to add them.

Is there another way or am I missing something?!

    Thanks

    hi carolineelisa

follow the link in my post, you need some PHPing, but i couldn’t find an easier solution to the problem

    cheers

Thanks eperinelli, but I’m afraid I don’t know which template to edit for the slideshow!

I have successfully edited the imagebrowser template for example, but have no idea which one is pulled in for [slideshow id=x]

P.s. I want to use the slideshow simply for the transition, rather than loading a new page with each click. So if anyone can recommend another nextgen template or even a whole new plugin to use for a gallery with captions, back/next navigation and fade transitions… please share!

    hi CarolinElisa

if you need transitions maybe you should try another plugin (lightbox? monoslideshow?) the second is commercial, but you can integrate it with NextGen

look for them on the web

    good luck!
