• Hi,

My Easy Fancybox is not working with NextGen. I was following the teps in the FAQ, but I think they may need to be updated. I have copied and pasted the instructions below, and have put what i did/comments in bold and italics.

Can NextGEN Gallery work with Easy FancyBox ?
NetxGEN has its own built in FancyBox version along with a choice of other lightbox scripts but if you prefer to use Easy FancyBox (because of better customisability) then you need to take some steps to make the two plugins compatible.

Go to your Settings > Media admin page and switch OFF the FancyBox Auto-gallery option; I unchecked all of the boxes
Go to Gallery > Other Options and set the Lightbox Effects option to “No lightbox” <strong> it does not say “No Lightbox” there is only None or Custom>and click on Show Advanced Settings; The advanced setting code option only shows under the Custom option for lightbox, Ultimately, I tried choosing the custom lightbox and put in the code field the code that is below. THIS DID NOT WORK
    fill the Code field with
    class=”fancybox” rel=”%GALLERY_NAME%”

If you could give me some guidance I would really appreciate it!

  • Hi Saturn, I’m afraid I don’t use NextGEN (too bloated for my taste) and the instructions are from a much older version so I suppose you’d need to set “Custom” now.

But you must NOT disable all the options on Settings > Media. Enable (at least) the Images media type again. You can disable the Auto-gallery option (in the new Images section there) if you only want NextGEN galleries to shown the FancyBox back/forward arrows.

    HI,

ok, so when I click on the box for images it is enabled, but it isn’t doing anything else with nextgen. it is just opening the images as if they are part of wordpress, not nextgen.

Also, I do not see an auto gallery option anywhere. I even did a “find” for the window. Are you sure it is n’t something else?

Or more where shoudl I be looking? There is no New Image section in the Settings-> Media

Can you share a link to your site? It’ll be easier for me to tell what is going wrong…

    I can’t 🙁 it is a local site

…it is just opening the images as if they are part of wordpress, not nextgen.

What do you mean by this?

    Questions:
    1. Do normal embedded images (with the option “Link to: Media file”) get opened in FancyBox?
    2. Does a normal WordPress gallery (again, linked to “Media file”) get opened in FancyBox?
