Support » Plugin: WordPress Gallery Plugin - NextGEN Gallery » NextGen Gutenberg block not saving or updating in 5.0.1

  • Hello,

When adding a gallery to a page via the NextGen block in WP 5.0.1 with Gutenberg, I’m getting a “Updating Failed” error message at the top of the screen when I try to update my page. I am able to go through the process of choosing a gallery – the message only appears when I try to update or publish a new page. The only way I’m able to save the gallery is if I edit a classic block as HTML and paste in the shortcode, so it appears the issue is just with the NextGen Gallery block. I deactivated all of my plugins and switched to the twentynineteen theme with no luck. I am on a multisite. Ultimately, rolling back to 5.0 fixed it but it would be nice to get this working in 5.0.1.

Hi Kendra – We’ve had several team members test NextGEN again 5.0.1 again just to double check and we’re not able to duplicate this issue. That means there’s likely something about your environment or some other condition that we don’t have but that’s necessary to duplicate (even though I know you did a good job trying to remove plugins/themes as a variable in your environment, which we appreciate).

We’re quite sensitive to ensuring NGG is flawless with Gutenberg right now. If you want to and are open to it, you can submit a bug report with your details. We’ll follow up to ask you for creds there, and have a dev log in and take a look to see if we can understand the issue.

We’d love to solve this. But its hard to do without seeing or duplicating.

You can submit bugs at https://www.imagely.com/report-bug/

If not, that’s ok too. We’ll be trying a few more things on our own too.

If you do submit a bug report, consider putting “For Erick” in the title so it gets flagged for my attention.
