Support » Plugins » NextGen Gallery – Suddenly fails to create thumbnails!

  • I have used NGGallery for a very long time on various hosts. Somewhat 6 months ago i moved to another host, where i checked everything worked as intended which it has so far.

Then last night when i wanted to update the family website with some new pictures, i did as I have always dnoe, i go to NGGallery interface, ad a new gallery named 20120221, I then upload the pictures via FTP, like I have always done. After upload is complete i go to the NGGallery managment find the gallery 20120221 and choose Scan Folder for New images, it adds all pictures, but in the process it always creates thumbs, like it always did, only now suddenly i get this error on all thumbs:

IMG_0242.JPG (Error : Create Image failed. Check memory limit)

I have checked the frontpage of the gallery plugin and whn i run the plugin check on the right it says:

    Check plugin/theme conflict
    No conflict could be detected

    Test image function
Could create image with 4048 x 3040 pixel

    Check theme compatibility
Your theme should work fine with NextGEN Gallery

Also, from what i can see in phpinfo, everything looks just fine.

See here: http://www.xn--snderby-mortensen-00b.dk/phpinfo.php (ignore the funny looking URL, it works just fine, its a danish localised domain with letters unique to danish used).

Anyone have any idea what so ever to how i get past this?

    Regards

    Thomas, a fustraded dane!

  • Perhaps too big image files? I always get that error when the files are either too large or too heavy.

Actually, i first thought it was because the DPI was too high ( read that on another forum) then i tried adjusting the DPI down to 50 and resize the image to 1024×1024 still no difference.

I ended up discovering that the folder which was created via ftp had the wrong premissions, so after deleted the folder entirely, via ftp, and adding the gallery via the WEBUI and uploading the images via webui as well, it worked just fine.

Also, phpinfo.php has been tanken down again 🙂
