I am using the Nextgen gallery plugin (2.2.14) and am having a problem with it keeping the sorting order. I currently have 1062 images in a gallery that I am have personally sorted to show the pictures in a chronological series. The latter images, towards the end of the gallery, will not remain where I sort them. The earlier ones do not seem to be affected. I recently uploaded an image to this gallery and put it at the end. When I ‘saved’ (Update Sort Order), it put the image back on the top row. I moved it again, ‘saved’, and got the same result. I have cleared the browser cache on the machine I was using, the hosting server’s cache, and even tried on a machine I have never used before. My presort is set to “Unsorted” with “Ascending” bolded. I believe a read somewhere that this application is limited to 1000 images per gallery but could not recall the source to verify. I have deactivated/reactivated the plugin. Thank you in advance for any advice!

@chumbleyblog – If you are looking for an existing display to change you must make the changes in it; or, to change an existing display you must re-open the Insert Gallery Window interface and make the changes there.

If you are making changes elsewhere in the NextGEN Gallery settings and want those applied to existing displays you will need to delete those existing displays and re-insert them for those changes to take effect.

    Thanks!

I have not changed any settings for the past 1000 images I have manually sorted. It seems after I hit the 1000 mark it will no longer accept the order I place new images in. After I save (“update sort order”) the new images go back to where they were. The old images are not effected. I am only working within one gallery. I am at a stand still since I have another 1000 images needing to be added to this gallery and also sorted chronologically. I have flushed the cache on all sides.
