  • All:

Cannot seem to get a slideshow to work correctly (or at all to be exact) on a site I’ve built.

I’ve deactivated and reactivated, and uninstalled and reinstalled, but neither have fixed the problem. Any help would be appreciated!

  • The link didn’t contain any slideshow…

Ok, I republished the page and it should show up now (but still not working)…..

Stupid question, did you upload pictures through the page ? cuz that solved my problem hehe.

There are 5 or 6 images in the gallery I want to display as a slideshow, so unfortunately that doesn’t appear to be the problem. I wish it were the problem, though, because that would be easy to fix!

FWIW, I have two sites hosted on my hosting plan. My other site displays slideshows correctly with no issues, but this site doesn’t work. Maybe it has something to do with where it was installed? Or perhaps a permissions issue?

There is a lot of script loaded, please check the behavior with the default theme

I am having the exact same problem. The slide show sits on the loader.gif (which is the spinning wheel, mostly referring to ‘loading’). If I change the settings to include ‘flash’ where flash is available, then reload the page, it then sits on a black screen.

I’ve tried changing my theme to two different themes, but that didn’t make a difference. I believe the issue is that the slideshow is unable to grab the photos for some reason, but I am not sure why.

    Any help would be awesome!

So I was able to fix the ‘flash’ option. Now when I select to incorporate ‘flash’ when available, it works but I still cannot get it to load the slideshow where flash is unavailable.

If anyone is interested in getting it to work with ‘flash’ enabled, see this forum here (5th post down by gnocchi)

Thanks for that link…..when I follow the process in the link:

    Gallery > Options > Slideshow

I get a blank screen on the slideshow tab. Any ideas?

    Problem solved!

I figured it out…..copied imagerotator.swf to my plugins directory and it works not.

The flash solution is one way, But it’s not solution for non-flash devices, I’m more interested if it’s a theme issue or not

I checked it with the default theme prior to loading imagerotator, and I still had the problem with slideshows not loading, so it doesn’t appear to be a theme related issue.

Alex, I have the slideshow up and running, but in order to diagnose the issue to get it to work with non-flash devices do I need to turn it off in the options panel?

I’m pretty sure that the ‘non-flash option issue’ isn’t theme related. I switched my theme between three different themes and the ‘non-flash’ slideshow did not work on any of them.

If anyone has been able to resolve the slideshow issue for the ‘non-flash’ option, please add it here.

Where, did you find the imagerotator.swf file? I’ve looked and can’t find it. Somewhere special? I am having the same problem and can’t get it to work at all. I have it running on one of my other blogs but I’m using a different widget it’s the NexGen Gallery widget and it just lists photos from the gallery. Anyway if you can tell me where to find the imagerotator.swf I would appreciate it. thanks.

Here’s the link to the imagerotator:
