Support » Plugin: WordPress Gallery Plugin - NextGEN Gallery » NextGEN Gallery Slideshow as Header Image

  • Resolved deekee

    Hello to all,
    well, I’ve posted this already in another section which was obviously the wrong one!

    Now finally after digging a bit around CSS and PHP, I found a solution, but which is not wholly satisfying…

    The NextGEN Gallery I’ve inserted is working fine, but somehow it’s first placed a few pixels below and finaly shifted upwards to the correct position, see×1

    I think it’s a stylesheet issue and I’ve have been fiddling around with it for quite a while but haven’t come up with a solution yet!

    Many thanks in advance for your help getting this private charity site online!

    🙂 Dirk

    NB: I know double posts are not fair but anyway I’ve started to post this issue in but only now I’ve found out that is the rigt place and where it actually belongs to (sorry I didn’t know as I’m pretty new (< 3 weeks) to WP)

  • Here the solution:

    In the header.php I simply replaced:

    <img src="<?php header_image(); ?>" width="<?php echo HEADER_IMAGE_WIDTH; ?>" height="<?php echo HEADER_IMAGE_HEIGHT; ?>" alt="" />

    with the following

    if (function_exists('nggSlideshowWidget')) {
        echo " ";

    Don’t forget to change gallery ID, WIDTH and HEIGHT

    Thank you for the trick. It works perfectly, except that my menubar (which was in transparency above the header image) is now under the slideshow :S

    I am taking my words back… no idea how but I am back with the header slideshow shifiting position (few pixels up) !! Going crazy with that. If anyone has a solution, I would be glad to hear what I am overseeing. Thank you!
