I’m afraid I’m not really familiar with the NextGen plugin. The Carousel view can be used with any gallery that’s built using the core WordPress Gallery system.
Could you have a look at this page, and check if you follow similar steps to create a Gallery on your site? If you use a different shortcode that’s generated by NextGen, you won’t be able to use Jetpack Carousel.
In this case, you might want to turn to the NextGen Gallery authors, and ask them if they can make changes to their plugin, to make sure that their galleries are compatible with other gallery and lightbox plugins that plug into the core WordPress gallery.
I ask though I doubt that would do such a thing because it would compete with the premium version of the plugin. Does anyone know the plugin gallery images can be divided into folders / categories that are compatible with the core WordPress gallery.
