Hi, I have a couple of websites using NextGen for galleries of paintings.
HostGator recently updated WordPress to the latest version, now what were galleries of organized thumbnails that when clicked took you to a full screen view of the painting are now just a jumble of unclickable thumbnails. Any ideas about what I need to do to get my site back in order?

    Thanks for any help
    David

@blogdropper – I use HostGator for my test sites and I am not seeing anything like what you are describing. There could be some sort of plugin and/or theme conflict happening on your site.

Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins, clearing your browser cache (and site caches if you are using a caching plugin), then reactivating the NextGEN plugin?

If this fixes the problem then it was likely one of the deactivated plugins that was causing an issue. Now, retrace your steps activating each plugin and re-checking to see if the problem returns. If it does then that last activated plugin was probably the one. Keep reactivating and in most cases it is also best to keep checking after each plugin, sometimes there may be more than one plugin on a site that will create an issue. If you do find one (or more) plugins causing this problem we would greatly appreciate your feedback on them so the developers may address them as soon as they can.

Also to note, in rare cases it may be the theme itself that is causing a conflict so while you have just the NextGEN plugin activated you might consider temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress Twenty series themes and see if this corrects the issue as well.

If the problem still persists after all of this we would still want to know, even more so, as we will still want to sort out the issue and may need additional details.

    Thanks!

    Hi Cais,
    Thanks for the reply.
I tried all your suggestions – deactivated all plugins, activated only NextGen, cleared cache, changed theme,
Still the same problem – no change.

I haven’t touched these sites for a couple of years, have no idea what WordPress version I was using before HostGator updated to 4.6

I’m also using NextGen Custom Field plugin – but none of my thumbnails are clickable anymore.
    Found this thread
which suggests that the problem is connected to updating WP version.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

@blogdropper – If this is an issue with the functionality of NextGEN Custom Fields, we are not its author and you may need to continue working with that author to get this sorted out on your site.

Does the issue persist if you deactivate that plugin?

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

I Also have this problem with the NGGAllery, except the plugin is disabled after an update and deleted from de site.
I tried to install a new version of this gallery, but it replies the folders that exsist need to be removed. I don’t want that.

Is there more I could try?
