I’m fiddling a lot with my website after it was hacked, I installed today BPS as it inspired me, but after activating the new .htaccess file, some problems occurred.
First, a subdomain (the only I have) disappeared, then the whole site and admin area were unaccessible to me (403 error).
I should perhaps specify that my main WP install is in the root folder, then I have a second install in the subdomain folder.
I also changed some permissions around (after BPS advice) but I am positively sure it doesn’t depend on that, since I practically restored all to the previous permissions. I might have missed something as I’m not so expert, BUT everything worked again when I eventually removed via cpanel the main .htaccess file created by BPS.
So it’s because of something in the file all this happened.
Sadly the codes in there are too advanced for my comprehension !
After this, I re-created the BPS htaccess files but avoided the “deny all” (two last options).
At this point dashboard and website still work, but I just noticed that some images in a gallery I have are not showing.
In my website I have 2 gallery plugins (lazyness) and the gallery which has missing images is nextgen.
Is there some known incompatibility with the 2 plugins?
Is there a piece of code I can add/change in my htaccess in order to fix this? please let me know if I need to post the file content.
Thank you very much for any help !
