next_posts_link bug?

  • I’m trying to use next_posts_link() and previous_posts_link() in my theme as Kubrick does, however there seems to be a bug in WordPress 2.0 where only one or the other is shown.

For example, if I’m on the first page of the archives the Next link will show. But when I click that, on the second page only the previous link will show, even though I have more posts.

Strangely, if you use posts_nav_link() before you call the separate functions then they will work as normal.

I’m assuming this is a bug of some sort, however it is I’m wondering how it passed since the default theme uses these? Not to mention, why aren’t both of these functions anywhere in the Codex?
