Hi @southerndreams,
I am sorry to hear of the issue. We have replaced the old Slideshow since it contained a script that wasn’t receiving updates for a critically long time.
The first thing that I would try is to reset NextGen’s settings from “Gallery -> Other Options -> Reset Options” then, go to the page where you’ve inserted the old gallery, remove that shortcode and add a new one using the “Add Gallery” button.
This should help with updating the shortcode’s structure and hopefully, that will solve the problem.

Nope, didn’t work.
I created a new slideshow and tried on two different places, no news.
Tried the gallery in a post, did also not work.

Hi @southerndreams,
Could you please let us know what shortcode you are using by copying it from the Text mode of the page/post editor?
Thanks,
Mihai

this is the code [ngg src=”galleries” ids=”8″ display=”basic_slideshow”]
There is no difference in the behaviour between using a slideshow in a post, page or widget.

Hi @southerndreams!
We noticed that your shortcode seems to be just fine.
Since this new slideshow is new code there is a possibility of conflict with another plugin or theme.
Could you please try these steps?
1.- Temporarily deactivate all your plugins except NextGen Gallery and NextGen Pro (or Plus).
2.- Is the problem solved? Then, it was caused by one of your plugins. Please check one by one and find the one causing the problem.
3.- If the problem is not solved with the deactivation of the plugins, try changing to a standard WordPress theme, it could be a conflict with your current theme.
Please, keep us posted
