• Greetings,

We’ve been using ALO Newsletter for a while and have had no issues until recently.

THe last successful send that we’ve seen where we have results for people opening the emails is April 13. We have tried since to send a newsletter, and while the report indicates all were sent successfully, there are no opens whatsoever.

Yesterday we updated the ALO plugin to see if this would remedy the issue. A test I sent to myself was received. We then setup another newsletter to send, but same result, all successful sends, but 0 opens.

Help! What might have changed that has caused the newsletters to stop being received? Any and all assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi wukovits,
did you try opening newsletters on different clients? Because some clients/webmails can block the “view” feature, that is based on downloading a pixel image from your site (when you read the message you should have to allow image download to enable it).
Are the click on newsletter links properly tracked?

Since the April 13 mailing, we’ve had no views or clicks. Newsletters sent prior to that tracked all things properly.

I can spin up an account for you to check it out, just let me know. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Have you installed any new plugin recently? Sometimes other plugins can affect that function (e.g. plugins about security could block access to the pixel image).

The site is hosted with GoDaddy so they might have pushed a WP update down, but no plugins get updated. We did update ALO first to see if that would resolve the issue. No other changes were made.

It looks like WordFence Security is also being used and is updating automatically. Are there known issues with WordFence? It was in use before the issue started.

Hi wukovits, I’ve sent a test newsletter with WordFence enabled and the newsletter “views” has been registered successfully. But it was a quick test, e.g. I could be not sure about I was using a WordFence similar to yours.
You can check if you set some firewall settings in WordFence that could affect “view” feature: this “view” hit is based on a php pixel image located in a subfolder of ALO EasyMail, and some setup of security plugin like WordFence can block this kind of request.
Anyway I’ll investigate about it in future.
