Hi there… I am trying to figure out about the newsletter plugin and the normal wordpress users registration… I have it currently where people can sign up for the user registration via the normal function already on every wordpress site, and people can also sign up for the newsletter via a plugin (plugins names is “newsletters”)… They are on my site as a separate thing… Does wordpress send any kind of updates notices to the users? or are they just on the list simply to allow them to post comments?

    my website is : http://www.heartcenter333.com

I was wondering if someone could help me clear up the confusion on why we have two places people can subscribe one for newsletters and one for users on the site allowing for them to post comment… I have quite a few users and one subscriber to my newsletter…

I was wondering if I could combine the two? Also, if someone could maybe take a look at how I have it, and offer any suggestion that may be more sufficient as to what it looks like I am really needing?

    Thanks a bunch!!! 🙂

  • You are confusing newsletter subscription with general registration/login. The general registration can only give access to the user to comment on your site. To get email id of the users who have registered with your site, In your admin area navigate to users (on the left panel) you can see all the registered users list along with mail id. The problem here is you cannot extract those mail id. so it is preferred to have a separate newsletter subscription so the readers have the freedom to use your site without registering . The two can be combined but that can only be done by code .

Thanks for the answer… I was thinking something along those lines… It’s still a little confusing, but I suppose as I get further along it will start to make more sense… 🙂
