Newbie/basic help

    I am designing a site for someone and they would like a blog. I can download it etc. Can they then access their blog separate to their site. So I set it up for them…give them an address and the username/password and they can then write and post stuff up etc. Should I set anything up on the blog for them?

    Also, how do I then link to that page. How do I know what the html link is. I just want to have a text link ‘blog’ and for visitors to click on that link and go to her site.

    Any help would be great…THANK YOU 🙂

    gd4 … simple question to ask ..

    YES. you can install WP for your friend and have them to only access the WP so they can update and make changes as necessary .. so … let’s say you have http://www.gd4.com/friendsname-blog/index.php .. they would access this folder you have created for them on your website so they can now have their own blog.

    to link to the blog from your main site … http://www.gd4.com … just locate the folder you have created and if you have installed it in that folder direct it will be “index.php” – otherwise if you put it in another sub folder, it will be “friendsname-blog/folder name/index.php”

    WOW! that was quick

    Thank you ever so much for the help and encouragement. I shall let her know that it is possible and easy for her to add to. Once I have done her site design I may pop back on here to ask a few more questions if I get stuck.
