Newbie Q: How to use Smilies?

This might be really basic – but I can’t figure out how to use the build in smilies! I know that : ) is happy and : ( is sad – but how do I type things like an angry one, or a :-/ type one?
Is there a legend somewhere? I couldn’t find this anywhere!
