# Newbie Plugin Problem

 * Hello all!
 * I’m a wordpress newbie, and I’m having a problem I can’t seem to find the answer
   to.
 * I have Wordpres 3.8.2 installed on a Ubuntu development machine. I’m trying to
   install the list-category-posts plugin. Since I don’t have FTP set up, I just
   extracted the plugin into the /usr/share/wordpress/wp-content/plugins directory.
   However, the plugin isn’t showing up on the website! I’ve looked around and the
   only advice I found was to make sure the plugin isn’t nested into another directory,
   which it is not.
 * Can you help a newbie out?
