Newbie – lost “register” on log in page

Helping employer with new blog. Both of us WP newbies.

Successfully installed 2.9.1.
Added Members plug in (Justin Tadlock) and checked Private Blog option.
Unchecked “Anyone can register” General setting
Checked “Users must register to comment” in Discussion setting

Blog address is http://www.directionaldesignonline.com/blog.
It opens correctly with a log in screen since the blog is private per the plug in.
THE “REGISTER” OPTION is missing at the bottom of the screen.

Do we have the General and Discussion settings correct?
Or do we reverse them?
OR uncheck both?

OR do we have another problem we are unaware of?
