Support » Plugin: Agora Video for WordPress » newbie installation questions, is a recorder only possible?

  • Resolved karen4j245

Hi, I got an agora account and thought I put all the codes in the settings correctly but I think I did something wrong. When I put the shortcode in, I get a blank screen with some buttons but the buttons don’t do anything when you click them either.

    Here is a screenshot:

Also, I was wondering if it’s possible to just have a broadcast button for users that when they finish automatically saves to admin in the website?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    Hi @karen4j245,

Thank you for your interest in the Agora Video for WordPress SDK.

With regard to the blank screen issue, whenever you are accessing a web page that is using the plugin make sure you are access the page using https. As explained in the FAQ: “Why doesn’t the video work? I see the buttons but I don’t get any prompts for video access. “

With regard to the automatically saving the video, Agora as a platform does not store the video, if you wish to record the broadcasts Agora offers it’s Cloud Recording Service which allows you to record your broadcasts and store them on your own server.

To use the Cloud Recording feature within the Agora for WordPress plugin, make sure to enable Cloud Recording on your Agora AppID within the Agora Console, also make sure to include the RESTful Customer Certificate within the Agora Video for WordPress settings, and lastly make sure to fill out the Channel Recording settings within the Channel settings page.

By filling out the Channel Recording settings it will enable a “record” button within the Broadcaster’s UI and this will allow the broadcaster to record their session to the server designated in the Channel Recording settings.

Thank you so much! I fixed the SSL and it’s working now. I will look into the cloud recording!

    Thanks again!
