 * I’m using WordPress 2.0…
 * I’m getting an error while using the Image Upload Feature.
 * “Unable to create directory /home/rtfmed/public_html/wp-content/uploads. Is its
   parent directory writable by the server?”
 * I have a feeling this might be a user account/rights issue. If I FTP into the
   site using the account supplied by my ISP I can modify files there…
 * But when I use my “admin” account within WordPress I get this error message.
 * I cannot check the permissions on the directories – as I don’t (as far as I know)
   have shell access. What should the permission be – so I can contact the ISP and
   ask them to review them?
 * Kind Regards
    Mike

 * I can’t say which specific CHMOD setting you need to use for this problem, but
   some folders/files need to be set at 777. Check what you current setting is &
   if it’s much lower than that increase CHMOD (though you should only increase
   it gradually to as high as you need to get the feature working). You want yr
   installation to be as secure as possible (& raising it to the max may cause some
   slight security weakness). But if it needs to be 777, then that’s what it should
   be.

 * I’m also having this problem, I’ve already chmod the directory to 777 but still
   get the same error you are. Not exactly sure what to do from this point???
 * Unable to create directory /web/sites/mike/domain.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/
   02. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
