Support » Themes and Templates » Newbie help with “hemmed” theme update

  • I’ve downloaded the Hemmed theme and have it working at http://www.runnersrevue.com . There are 2 adjustments I’d like to make to the theme but unable to do to my lack of experience and HTML knowledge.

    1) How do I change the font of the header ??
    2) Is there a way to show more of the individual postings lines on the home page ? i.e. instead of currently defaulting to only show 5 lines of the post can I have it show 10, 20 or a set predetermined # of lines ? Is there a way to update the theme to show the entire post ?

    I appreciate your help.

    Search for #headertitle in your stylesheet, add

    font-family:’Times New Roman’,Times,serif;

    it will use Times New Roman if available, if not Times …

    Look for this bit of text in the index.php file:

    \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
    <?php the_excerpt_reloaded(120,
    \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

    The “120” is the word count to show for the post. So change that to how ever many words you want the excerpt to show say for example 200 etc..
