Hi there! bear with me, I am not code-friendly.

So I am considering making the move from Blogger to WordPress.org. I own the domain and it’s been sitting unused for almost a year while I made the decision what to do, whether it be just point my blogger blog to it, or switch to WP.org.

I have another website through WebHostingBuzz, and the domain to my blog and that website are through GoDaddy at present. I could add on a domain for my blog to my WHB account apparently, though I’ve read that causes redirect issues and I don’t want the two sites showing links to each other at all.

I was wondering if it would be possible to set up a WP blog on the blog domain, through either WHB or BlueHost, since the domain isn’t currently used and try to “figure it out” as WP.org, while keeping my blog running on Blogger as it is now, and if all goes well, and I figure it out (I have no idea what I am doing), then import my Blogger over. I was hoping there was a way to download some kind of app for WP to test out, but it doesn’t appear that’s how it works.

My biggest holdup besides not knowing what I am doing at all (I know NOTHING code related and would likely have to involve someone I know who knows this platform to get me going) is that I know several people who’ve been hacked on WP. That’s been the main reason I stuck with Blogger this long.

    Input?
