# newb problem

 * hi everyone
 * brand new to wordpress, and to the forums.
 * i’m using ipage to host my site, and using wordpress ofcourse to create it
 * my domain is [http://www.kelownahousesitter.com](http://www.kelownahousesitter.com)
   
   i have installed wordpress to the domain, but when i am adding pages, the pages
   work great, but when i click HOME to bring me back to [http://www.kelownahousesitter.com](http://www.kelownahousesitter.com),
   it is obviously not hooked up to the wordpress site.
 * any suggestions i appreciate your help

 * [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) into your site (or use whatever
   file management application your host provides) & delete the index.html file 
   in your domain’s root folder.

 * i went into the file manager and there was a redirection folder – deleted that
   sucker are we are all geared up

 * so I have now got the domain being directed to wordpress, but last stupid question
   of the day from me, i promise.
 * how do I edit what is shown on the default page
 * for instance, if you go to [http://www.kelownahousesitter.com](http://www.kelownahousesitter.com)
   you will see my menus are there, but on the “HOME” page there is nothing but 
   an error message. In essence all I am wondering if where I put the information
   I’d like to see on the main page.

 * Do you intend to publish any Posts? If “yes” will you want those Posts shown 
   on the home page of your site?

 * I suggest making a Home static page. If it does not show up in your navigation,
   make a custom menu.
