#New2WP-Can't import the customization

I will be appreciated if someone can help me here: Warning ::New to Wp, not a coder.
I installed WP using “bitNami” that means I didn’t need to do any configuration or using phpMyAdmin at all. It did it for me. I purchased a wp theme &customized it on localhost. Now I need to move everything to Bluehost server. This is what I have done:
Under localhost/wp dashboard>I used : Tools>export to export site content from my customized wp. Then I imported the xml file into the wp site on bluehost server ( same theme). Problem is that none of my customization gets imported. If I export all the content as one xml file– I receive an error message such as :
Failed to import portfolio_categories Campaigns
Failed to import portfolio_categories Digital / Typography
Failed to import Media “tumblr_myebwtELvb1st5lhmo1_1280”
Failed to import Media “tumblr_mxrv9j9zmc1st5lhmo1_1280”

If I do the export and import process for pages or contact or portfolio as separate xml files- it tells me that those pages already exist on the server.
At this point I don’t know what I am supposed to do!
If I am supposed to somehow export or backup the customized files then upload those on the server:: then please let me know how? I simply went under wp-content on my machine and uploaded everything including theme and child-theme folders on bluehost server assuming my customization should be reflected in those files.
