# New WordPress Version and Plugins Will Not Update

 * I get this error message when trying to update plugins:
    “Download failed. error:
   0D0890A1:asn1 encoding routines:ASN1_verify:unknown message digest algorithm”
 * I get this message trying to update to latest version of WP:
    “Downloading update
   from [http://downloads.wordpress.org/release/wordpress-4.3-no-content.zip…](http://downloads.wordpress.org/release/wordpress-4.3-no-content.zip…)
   Download failed.: error:0D0890A1:asn1 encoding routines:ASN1_verify:unknown message
   digest algorithm Installation Failed”
 * I’ve never had a problem with this in the past.
