It does support Classic Editor with the plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/
Actually I use that plugin and it does NOT work.
Is the shortcode button still visible for you in “Classic Editor”?

Okay, according to @esmexaminer, the code does NOT work, and yes, the button is visible.
More data: the code does NOT work with Elementor either

Tested on multiple themes and it works well with “Classic Editor” please give me more informations so I can debug this issue.
