Hi Norwood,
The closest we have to that functionality is the vertical menu option in Pro:
https://www.megamenu.com/documentation/vertical-mega-menu/
There is an accordion option too.

Thank you for the response.
I am confused, the link you sent did not show any different than the free version? See this link showing you widget “MEGA MENU NAVIGATION WIDGET” — It is Black with white type just like the Demo you sent. Is there a way to get skins that look like what I am using today that looks like the vertical menu shown on the top of the side bars “PROPERTY SEARCH TYPES”
https://norwood451wph.staging.wpengine.com/central-coast-homes/
Also, please see link and menu “”MEGA MENU NAVIGATION WIDGET” again. How do I fix the type formatting so that is stays in a list. Note that there are 10 links that are side by side and not in a list.
Thank you for your help π – it is very much appreciated.
Hi Norwood,
I’ve checked the link you sent. The free version of Max Mega Menu only supports horizontal menus, so the menu you have in your sidebar at the moment is a horizontal menu that is squished into a narrow area. What you need is the Vertical menu option, which is in pro, which would stack the items neatly on top of each other.
There aren’t any built in skins/themes, so you’d need to use the theme editor to style the menu how you like (all the theming options are available in the free version).

Tom
Hi Tom
Oh, I understand now – I did not realized I could not use your free version to make vertical menus. The developer at widget options said it would.
Is it possible to format your plug-in, ideally, to look like the one I am using now.-which is not supported anymore. I tried to play with the coding, but could not make any changes. It is very confusing for me as I am not a coder.
Would you mind telling me how I can do the styling. I would certainly buy the pro version if I can get it to look similar to the one I am using.

Thank you again for patience and your help!
Hi norwood451,
You wouldn’t be able to get it looking identical, as our plugin doesn’t support that hover effect. You can use the theme editor (under Mega Menu > Menu Themes) to set the gradient colours on the top level items.

Tom
I looked at your videos, which is not helpful- it just makes changes and does not show an example of what the changes.
There are 6 tabs: Menu, Megea Menu, Fylout, Mobile, Custom.
Within each tab are several choices
There is no way to know which tab or menu choice I should use to adjust the style of the menu item.
I am using the widget, so I tried Mega Menu and widget, and did not see any change or the changes I made did not do much.
Can you please give me some kind of an idea how to change the way that I can change the way that it looks?
Hi Norwood,
You will find the settings your looking for under “Mega Menu > Menu Themes > Menu Bar > Top Level Menu Items”. There is a title and description for each of the options.

Tom
Hi Tom:
That information was extremely helpful. I got it to look almost exactly like I wanted, which took hours to do, except there is no option for width that I can see.
I tried this code in the css section, but it did not work. Can you tell me what I did wrong?
}
#{$wrap} #{$menu} > li.mega-menu-item > a.mega-menu-link {
width: 100%;
}
This is the page. You can see that it does not reach 100%.

Sorry I am not a professional coder, but am trying. Developers make look so easy. π
Thank you again.
Hi Norwood,
It’s looking good. As I mentioned in an earlier reply, at the moment you have a horizontal menu that is squished into a narrow container (your sidebar). For the items to stack neatly on top of each other, you will need to switch the menu orientation to Vertical, which is an option in the Pro addon.

Tom
So, I am clear about Pro.
Is there anything else I need to know to do get it to look right after buying pro besides changing it to vertical?
How long do you think you will be keeping plug-in updated for new wp versions and security. I hate to have to replace the side menu again. I hope you say forever- :)-<
Hi norwood451,
You should just need to change the orientation to Vertical.
We’ll keep updating the plugin as long as there is demand for it! Hopefully a long time yet.

Tom
