Thanks for the review.
See my blog post on disappearing emails, you may have an SPF problem.
Hi Jason,
Contact forms work great and all other communications as well, including password reset which was the reason I switched to SMTP via Postman as prior the password reset emails would not send. After switching to SMTP GAW via Postman, now ONLY the new user to admin notifications are not sent. Everything else works great. They are not in the log in Postman either.
SMTP GAW? I’m not familiar with that term.
now ONLY the new user to admin notifications are not sent.
You’re sure you have notifications enabled in WordPress?
Is it possible you have another plugin, or your theme, interfering with the generation of these emails?
GAW = Google Apps for Work. Yes, everything is enabled. All other emails in the system work great. Only the admin new user notifications fail. i.e. when a new user registers via WordPress.
Do you see entries for the admin new user notifications in the email log?
Nope, nothing. It’s such an awesome plugin. I hope to continue using it and would gladly pay for a premium version.
And if you deactivate Postman and try to create a new user, does the notification get through?
(and thank-you)
It worked for years until the day I added Postman which solved more important issues, so I can live with it but it does in fact concern me as other admin emails might not get to me.
Well, sounds like a bug in Postman :-/
Would you kindly:
- Activate TRACE in Settings > Postman > Advanced > PHP Log Level
- Install the Debug plugin and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG
- Add a new user
- Send me the log file and I’ll see where it all went wrong!
If the log file you want is the one from Debug, I got this “No Log File Found” after creating a new user.
And I spoke wrong earlier…the emails are in your log file. So this is a Google Apps issue? Nothing in the spam folders or moderation.
My admin email addy is tutor at schoolofbookkeeping dot com and my profile and Google Account in use is Eric at the same. Can this be the cause? I know sometimes domain to domain is an issue.
I changed the admin email to a different account outside the domain and its working. I need it to be in the same domain however. Does this help?

Oh, ok. Probably not a plugin bug then. You can deactivate WP_DEBUG_LOG and delete the Debug plugin.

Likely. Would you please send me (privately) the session transcript for the email that went missing.
