• Hello,

Since updating to the new version that is using the new Instagram API I have noticed the gallery takes quite awhile to come up on the page; this wasn’t a huge problem for me personally as the items are at the bottom of the page on this installation.

However I just noticed an issue which I have put down to this plugin.

When I first load the page (and the gallery is still loading) I have noticed my mouse cursor gets “stuck” on the arrow pointer and won’t change to the “hand” even when hovering over links.

Why is it connected to this plugin? Because as soon as the gallery has finished loading and displays, the mouse cursor begins working as normal again.

Not really an ideal situation and I assume some form of “blocking” is going on within the page that is preventing some elements of the page working as expected whilst the gallery is loading.

    Please advise.

    Can someone please advise?

I also noticed not only does the cursor “get stuck”, users are also unable to “click” things, if they do it does not work.

Going to have to go to an alternative plugin for this site too if this isn’t fixed soon.

    Thank You!

it seems 1.4.2 is hogging resources when it loads, leading to browser freezing.

Yep, definitely sounds like the case.

Just looking at the network requests it appears TWO requests are sent for each image loaded in the gallery; that doesn’t seem to be a very resourceful way to do it.

I have only got 6 images loaded in this particular gallery, so I can imagine what it would be like for larger galleries.

I see new updates being released and yet this is still an issue and being ignored.

@zhannak Is anyone going to address this issue or should I change plugins for all sites using this?

    Hello dear friends,

I am very sorry to get back to you late.

Dear users, we are aware of this issue and now are working on it.

The update will be released during a week.

Dear @gutterboy333, we have not ignored this issue, we are just having some bugs after API changes, and with small updates provide quick fixes.

This issue was more time taking and this is why the update has gone without waiting for this fix.

Ok, noticed a new update was released for this, however it still hasn’t fixed it.

I assume it was for this issue as it was stated it was to fix the “feed load time”.

The feed load time, I am not entirely sure if it has sped up or not, but the “blocking” is still there, and testing it, it seems to block it for about 10 seconds.

    Can’t this be fixed?

    Dear @gutterboy333,

This time we have managed to fix the loading time of the feed, with our further updates we’ll fix the blocking issue too.

    Ok thanks!

Still no news on blocking issues?

    (@gutterboy333)

Don’t know why this was marked as resolved as it most certainly never was; because the gallery on the site that is still using this wasn’t hugely important I just turned it off to wait for the fix – but looking at the changelog I still don’t see notice of this fix?

I just tried to test it out now but now it won’t even load any images from IG and instead states the feed has “no images”, which is false.

Give up on this plugin, will advise my client to move to another.

It seems they don’t really care about this bug, I have marked this as unresolved again, I have also moved on from this plugin.
