New to WordPress…Help!!!!

Hello all… So I just signed up for hosting with GoDaddy for my website.
Main reason being I needed to update my site for a more professional look since my site is starting to get more visits. GoDaddy told me that WordPress would be my best choice especially since I am a beginner and will be doing it on my own. I spent a few hours over the weekend trying to install a theme and I am so frustrated. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I just have no idea where to begin as far as themes etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂
