New to WordPress – site advice for a first timer

    Hi all

    Have never built a website before. I am pretty computer literate but still getting my head around how WordPress will work for me.

    Would like some advice and thoughts of the good and bad of what I have done so far.

    The theme used is Selene

    Still so many things to nut out and I hope that these forums will get me on my way. Once I’m sorted maybe I can actually add something back here lol

    Now maybe I think I have added this posting in the wrong place or done something wrong with my question as I have had no response. Anyway clarify that for me?

    When websites appear alike the themes they derive, forum volunteers will take less effort in reviewing.

    I think it’s quite good! The feel is a little dark but in a cool way.

    Not sure what’s going on with the home page though, the dark background fades in and fades out and the bar at the bottom is a little distracting.

    Very good overall though!

    Good start, much better than when I started :-). I would check out your top image as it loaded slow on my machine. Make sure you check out your options to ensure the image is a good size. I also recommend a plugin called WP-SmushIT as it helps with keeping the images sized appropriately to help them load quick.

    If I am not wrong I guess you still have a lot to do on your site, like adding content, customizing the look, adding proper images.
