• Hi,
Am am considering using wordpress on one of my sites for the first time. However before I do I want to know if what I want is possible.

The homepage of my site is going to be a flash page. Then I want various wordpress pages under that i.e. Blog, News, Gallery 1, Gallery 2 etc.

It it possible to create multiple wordpress pages?

If so, where do I install wordpress? Do I need to install it in multiple directories, or can all the pages be managed from one admin area?

    Thanks,
    Foxy

WordPress is a inclusive system which installs in a single directory, which could be the root of your site, or a subdirectory (i.e. /wp/). Admin is all managed through an online portal, so pages, posts, etc. will all be listed in a central place.

You can demo the software <a href=”WordPress is a inclusive system which installs in a single directory, which could be the root of your site, or a subdirectory (i.e. /wp/). Admin is all managed through an online portal, so pages, posts, etc. will all be listed in a central place.

    Thanks for that Douglas.

So as I understand it, it would not be possible to have my homepage as a flash page, a few sub-directories that are non-wp pages and then another subdirectory containing all my wordpress pages?

Is there a way to edit the navigation, so that it can include all my non-wp pages?

    Thanks,
    Foxy

WordPress has a very customizable nav builder, with which you can add custom links very easily. What you’re talking about setting up sounds straightforward.
