 * Hi. I am very new to WordPress but I have a good handle on PHP and MySQL. I have
been assigned the responsibility at work to redo our site. We are a large social
services organization with numerous departments and facets. Each dept is responsible
for maintaining their own web content. Our old site uses a version of Joomla
which I am quite dissatisfied with.
 * I’ve been looking into WP as a CMS to allow specific users to edit their own
content. The Transportation Dept, for example, should be able to edit their own
pages, but no others. How to do this may become much clearer as I set up a dev
environment, but I’d like to have as much info as possible going into it.
 * Is anyone here familiar with some thorough resources discussing these issues,
how to accomplish what I’ve described? Books, articles, etc? I’ve done a quick
search of the forums here, but haven’t yet found what I need. Thanks….. Michael
