Support » Fixing WordPress » New theme, now Page Not Found

  • I installed a new theme and now I’m getting “Page Not Found- The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.” Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • If you were using permalinks, check theme support for them, and if supported, re-save the permalink structure (also verify theme works with your version of WordPress). If using a caching plugin, make sure to clear server cache.

    What theme?

Revisit the permalink page. That will flush your permalink and if the issue with that it will fix it.

I went to Settings – Permalinks and Clicked Default but it didn’t change. Am I missing something? The theme is Golden Eagle. We don’t have a caching plugin.
    Thanks for the help!

Can you switch the theme and see if that solves the problem, if not can you list the plugins you have installed.

Would prefer not to change the theme but will if I need to obviously 🙂 Plugins- Askimet, Jetpack, WordPress Importer (also Hello Dolly and Wiziapp, but they are not activated).

Is there a certain permalink structure I should choose?

Switching to the default WordPress theme (Twenty Eleven) is part of the basic troubleshooting process.

Switching to Twenty Eleven didn’t help unfortunately

I think switching to Twenty Eleven may have actually helped (can anyone tell? Not sure if it’s just my computer). I switched over to Golden Eagle on another website I run (same version) with no problems. Any other possible solutions?
