  • I’ve set up my site as Multisite, but I’d like the sites that I create to be within a sub-domain.

    The site domain is:

    indie-film.tv

I have various other things going on there, such as blog posts, pages, BuddyPress, etc, so I’d like all of the craeted sites to be at this URL:

    indie-film.tv/sites/name-of-site

    Is this possible?

Subdomains are in the format of subdomain.domain.com

So yours would be, say, bollywood.indie-film.tv

If you want your sites to be indie-film.tv/sites/name-of-site then you would be using subfolders and install WP in the /sites/ folder.

Yeah, my brain stopped for a minute there. The installation is sub-folders.

I was hoping to install it on the main domain, as then I could pull info from various sites into the main site, is that not possible?

Multisite doesn’t like it when it’s not using the URL of the folder it’s running out of. It’s particular that way.

If you install in the main domain, your sites would be indie-film.tv/name-of-site

Now, you can go in and edit the site to force /site/ in there, but I don’t know what that’d do…

Thanks, I’ll think I’ll play it safe and use it as it’s meant to be. I don’t want something to break further down the line.

    Thanks.
