Support » Fixing WordPress » New Site, v.3.5WP, images broken

Setting up new site. (I’ve done this many times.)
    Cruising along just fine.
All of a sudden the icon images for menu items, theme previews, are NOT showing up and WP is having a hard time loading admin pages (like it’s waiting for the icon images that never arrive.
Last thing I was doing was installing a new theme (Magazine professional), and my first thought was that it didn’t go well. I activated the 2013 theme instead: no change. Uninstalled the Magazine Professional theme: no change. Re-installed the Magazine Pro theme: no change.
    Any ideas on what changed?
(The buttons and other images in the WP Settings pages are there just fine, and those pages seem to load fine.
I’d like to try a re-install of WP, but it was done through SimpleScripts and not sure that is the best way to go.
    Could use some input.

I activated the 2013 theme instead:

You have a time machine too? 😉

I assume you meant 2012. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
