    Hi,
I installed the plugin a couple of months ago. I have had a few more reviews come in since, and no new info is being refreshed – it is exactly the same as it was when I first set the plugin, even teh number of reviews showing.
    Can anyone help?

@alijcar Thanks for letting me know. There has been a recent change to the structure of the reviews.

Please can you send me an email with a text attachment containing the HTML that you’re using? With this I can test it and add new functionality.

The email address is: wordpress dash plugins at designextreme dot com.

    Thank you!

@alijcar I just re-read your message and I think I misunderstood the question because of the posts’s title. You’re having an issue with new reviews being retrieved?

If so, please check your Retrieved Data in the Dashboard – does this show the new/relevant reviews with the correct review count?

If the Dashboard is showing the current information but not in the front-end, then it is likely that your page’s output is cached. I recommend clearing this to see if the information showing in the Shortcode (or Widget) is now correct?

Hello I have the same problem, the latest reviews are not retrieved, neither in the front-end, neither in the dashboard’s retrieved data.
Amy idea how to fix this?

@baga The issue mentioned before is likely to be a caching issue because the overall review count should be regularly updated and match the reviews in the Google search results.

If you just don’t see the latest reviews, then this is likely that newer reviews are not regarded as the most relevant. The Places API always returns the 5 most relevant reviews and not necessarily the most recent. This is covered in the FAQ.

If you feel up to it, please check out the HTML Import in the Advanced tab. This will populate the remaining reviews that aren’t delivered through the API.

@designextreme apologies, I didn’t get an email with the first 2 responses – these last 2 have just come through.
So if now looks like the review count is correct, but when you click on the 35 reviews to see the reviews there is a google 500 error.

It could be that google is showing the most relevant, but still an issue to link to all teh reviews

    Thanks

Thank you very much for your quick reply!

I tried the HTML import and now the latest reviews are shown.

Do I have to do this manual import all the times?

    (@designextreme)

@baga You don’t need to manually import these unless you want to keep a complete collection of reviews – some of these will not be deemed “relevant” and will only appear in your collection using the HTML Import. I don’t recommend performing this too frequently unless you’re getting a lot of reviews coming in and want the complete set.

Usually, the relevant reviews will be enough to keep things topped up for you.

    Thanks,
the problem with the relevant reviews is that they were all about summer activities sold by the company, now they prefer to show the most recent reviews which are about winter activities that are selling at the moment.

@baga That makes sense. You can sort by date and then use HTML Import as needed. There are some more advanced parameters to have inclusive and exclusive words. Check out the Shortcodes tab under Parameters.

@alijcar I spotted your response in there.

New reviews – that’s good. Just bear in mind that you’ll only see the most relevant reviews and not necessarily the most recent.

Error 500 with Google – This is an issue with Google’s short link using the Place ID. I have reported this to the Google Maps support and waiting for their response. It is at their end and they do need to fix this to avoid issues with accommodation business using this well-established URL.

Thanks a lot for your support!
