New Products Not Showing

    I’m setting up a Woocommerce shop for the first time (not a techie in the slightest so bear with me).

    I’ve added 89 virtual products which all show own the product page just fine. But when I add a 90th the product doesn’t display correctly and the page navigation disappears.

    I have no idea how to solve the problem. Any help or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

    I understand that adding a 90th product to your site results in your sites navigation disappearing and the product not displaying properly, is this correct?

    After checking your site, I am able to see that the navigation still appears, however the pagination disappears. Please can you clarify if this is the same as what you are seeing on your end (visual reference below)?

    If yes, this could be the cause of either a theme or plugin conflicting with WooCommerce. I’d suggest performing a full conflict test to rule this out.

    Here is a detailed guide on how to perform a conflict test.

    Should the issue persist, please share a copy of the following:

    • System Status Report: navigate to WooCommerce → Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.
    • Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce → Status → Logs.

    Once you have these, please share them in your response here.

    Try disabling it and seeing if that fixes the issue?

    Yes. This is exactly what I’m seeing. And the final product is not displaying pricing.

    I followed the instructions in the conflict test ad it did not resolve the issue.

    Thank you for the response. I am a complete novice here so the image of the code means very little to me.

    If I disable or delete the final product, the pagination returns. But as soon as enable it or add any new product the issue returns.

    It’s as if I have a hard limit of 89 products that can be displayed.

    How are you displaying that list of products?

    What are you doing to remove the product name?

    I would suspect an issue with the theme – is it up top date?

    It’s a custom theme created by the person who put the website together. I’ve done nothing to remove the product names myself. I haven’t figured out how to enable them yet. That was a problem for another day.

    I’ve tried running the site with a default theme and with all other plugins disabled and the issue is still present.

    I’m not sure what you mean by ‘how you displaying the list of products?’

    Thanks for providing the status report.

    PHP Version: 7.3.33

    I am able to see that your site does not meet the server requirements for WooCommerce. Can you try upgrading your PHP version and see if this perhaps makes any difference? You can ask your host to help you out with this.

    Also, let’s see if some server changes make any difference:

    • PHP Post Max Size: 8 MB: Can you bump it up to 128 MB
    • PHP Time Limit: 30: Can you bump it up to 300
    • Max Upload Size: 2 MB: Can you bump it up to 128 MB
    • PHP Max Input Vars: 1000: Can you bump it up to 3000

    Your host should be able to help you out with the above value changes as well.

    Total Database Size: 102.92MB

    You can also try optimizing the database and see if this helps. You can use a plugin for this, such as WP Optimize.

    Please ensure that you have a good backup of your full site and database in place before making any of the above changes, so that, should something go wrong, you are able to easily restore your site to a functioning state.

    You are most welcome! Sounds like a plan! Let us know how that goes!

    Meanwhile, you’ve mentioned that the issue still persists even after running the conflict test, switching to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled, correct?

    This is quite strange, please provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs that will help us further troubleshoot.

    OK. I’ve since moved my website to a new host and can now be found at jwed.co.uk

    The old host wasn’t responding to my requests (and there have been other issues so this was overdue).

    On the newly hosted site, I have set up a staging copy on which I have deleted all apps except Woocommerce. I have set the theme to the Storefront theme and have deactivated all plugins except the WooCommerce ones.

    I have tried to reproduce this issue on my testing site, however, I am unable to as the pagination still displays after adding the 90th product:

    On the newly hosted site, I have set up a staging copy on which I have deleted all apps except Woocommerce. I have set the theme to the Storefront theme and have deactivated all plugins except the WooCommerce ones.

    Does the issue persist on the staging environment? If yes, would you mind sharing the staging environment’s site URL so that we can check for any identifiable errors on our end?

    This should work on Safari (Mac), please can you clarify what happens when you select the log text, and perform a Right-click →  Copy? This should copy the fatal error log, ready to share as text.

    On the staging site, I have deleted all plugins except Woocommerce, Woocommerce payments and Woocommerce shipping and tax. I’ve deleted all themes except for Storefront.

    I’ve managed to paste the error logs. These are taken from the staging site logs, but predate the staging site itself.

    Looks like you have quite a few memory limit exhaustion errors happening, which could possibly be the culprit here.

    To resolve this particular error (and hopefully the main issue at hand) you could try to increase your WordPress memory limit.

    Please reach out to your host and ask them to increase your WordPress memory limit to 1024M. You can read more about increasing your memory limit here.

    Thank you once again.

    As I mentioned in my last post, those logs are historical. They were generated prior to migrating the website to a new host server I assume they were copied over with everything else when I migrated the site. I haven’t had further similar logs with the new server, but the issue remains.

    So, I’ve decided to rebuild the website from the ground up using a tried and tested theme (and with no plugins until I can verify WooCommerce is working correctly) on the staging site. I’ve reset WooCommerce on this site and am rebuilding the store from scratch.

    Hopefully with a fresh install of WooCommerce, a new host server (Siteground which is WordPress and Woo approved), a better theme, and no plugins that might interfere, I’m hoping this will resolve the problem.

    It will take a few days to get everything to a stage where I can be sure that the issue is fixed. If all is well, I’ll post in a few days to let you know so you can close the thread.
